Black Friday… meh.

We struggled with the decision, and ultimately decided that this year, we would not participate in Black Friday. Our initial reasons were due to respect of our family, friends and staff.

But by no means does this suggest that we aren’t VERY concerned about the message this sends to you, our customer. We hope you will understand and possibly even respect us for this decision. A decision that was not taken lightly.

We really want to be the store that our customers choose because they WANT to shop here. We’re local. We’re personal. We want to do right by our customers! We want to be the store that you think of first when you need Apple gear or support.

Maybe this isn’t the time to say it, but we want to offer value. Sure the word value gets lost in they hype of Black Friday and now Black Thursday, and that’s what we believe.

We’re not against making some special offers or adding some enticements to come to our store… but then again, we feel like we do that all year. No appointment service drop off, pretty fast turn around time on repairs, almost never a line to make purchases, nice quiet and relaxed store, competitive prices. We’re pretty anti-chaos, and we didn’t want to start now.

We also looked at our sales history for the past 3 years and decided the money lost would pale in comparison to the moral building of closing our store for the day.

Again, this was a very difficult decision to make and we hope that your purchasing decisions don’t expire on Friday and you decide to shop with us another day.

As an alternative to Black Friday and in support of small businesses everywhere, we will be open on Small Business Saturday, November 24th. We will have extended hours and sale items.

We really hope you can appreciate our choice and we really hope that it does not affect your decision to shop at Create More!

We like being low key. Sure, it would be better for us if there was a line of customers waiting to get in every day. But that’s not how we roll.

So with that in mind, we’re considering not being open in Black Friday. Rather, offering great value all season long on everything we sell.
